Birth ParentRelinquishment


A judge can appoint a lawyer or a social worker to take a relinquishment. This is when the birth parent(s) sign the legal documents relinquishing their right to parent their child. It is courteous to ask the birth parent(s) whom they would feel more comfortable with at this difficult time.
